Dr. Brenton Smith, M.D.

Board certified in the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Smith is passionate about patient care. As Louisiana native, he was born in the New Orleans area. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami – Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He then joined a long family history of serving in the US military. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg in North Carolina and then served 4 years at Laughlin Air Force Base.  After separating from the military, Dr. Smith returns to his home state to serve the people of Lake Charles, LA.

While serving as a Flight Surgeon, Major Brenton "FERDA" Smith was known for going the extra mile to serve his patients. His call-sign was given to him for always being there to take care of his patients when they needed it. He continues to give that level of care to each of his patients today. He strives to treat each one of his patients as if they were his own family member.
